Love thyself: loving yourself means accepting yourself as you are. People have really misunderstood the term ‘self-love’ with either being selfish or just dressing up to look presentable. Self-love is not only limited to loving your body, instead it includes all aspects of you and your body.
It includes:
- Loving your spiritual self – we all are spiritual beings. That spiritual self in you is the one that builds a connection between you and almighty, between you and nature, between you and community, between you and the universe. That connection is the only thing which keeps your feet grounded on earth. To keep that connection, it’s required to listen to messages of nature, listen to your instincts, listen to the need in the community, listen to the universal message for you and follow on it. Once we start paying attention to the signs and begin to respond, you tend to believe in your spiritual self and that believe makes you become a higher version of yourself.
- Loving your mind – you got to love your mind which has control over your body. When you love something a chemical gets released in your body which adds up to your well-being. Our mind is like a control room of the body. People ignore it by saying something like:
‘My mind is going crazy ‘
‘I have lost my mind ‘
‘I am not in my right mental state ‘
All these negative messages in terms of either a self-talk or as a communication source brings a negative energy around you, as a result, your mind slows down and then you start believing in what you say about your mind or brain. And more you believe in that statement, more you are likely to attract that towards you.
- Loving your heart – we all have been gifted with a beautiful heart. Our heart talks to you by beating naturally, fast and slow. If we listen to it, it gives us a message. The more we respond to it the more it communicates with us. In this materialistic world people have a tendency to put it on silent mode by just ignoring its message. As a result, unknowingly either we train our self to ignore that message or completely close that channel of communication. By doing that we stop nurturing it, and as a response it gets ignored, and once it is ignored the individual starts to feel lonely and attracts loneliness in their life.
- Loving your soul – our body is nothing but an energy. This energy is pure and divine. Once that energy is given a body, it’s given a name of soul. Each and every soul is driven by love and peace. Its sole purpose is to be present in your body to love, to spread love and be loved. Like a child, the only way to keep it calm is by embracing it with love. To nurture your soul not only do you need to meditate but also provide a clean as well as serene environment. The more you fulfill its needs, more you start to feel its presence, which will help you to connect with it. The moment you start to believe in it, is the moment you start to listen to the universal message, in that very moment you will be able to hear, see, feel or listen to what the true meaning of the presence of your soul is.
- Loving your body – taking care of your body is so vital for you as a human being. We are given this body to utilize for our higher purpose. We as a human being live a life of higher species on this planet, we live our life enjoying it to the fullest, and in order to do so we leave behind our sole purpose of being present in this universe. Each and every individual is born with a purpose. But as we grow older we tend to follow what’s most attractive to us, and resist what is challenging. We eat what appeals to our eyes and what satisfies our taste-buds, leaving and ignoring the nutritional value of the food what the sole purpose of eating is. Once we eat to live but not live to eat, is the time you start taking care of your body. The moment you realise you understand your body by building that connection, in that special moment you start to nurture it.
- loving your thoughts – your thoughts follow you no matter where you go in this world. They are your best friend. Listening to them can give you some insight towards the path you need to follow. If you have a thought about something and it starts to bother you, that’s the time to act on it. Sometimes people can’t sleep well because some kind of thought keeps coming to them. That is a time your own self wants to get connected to you. You got to pay attention to it and respond to it with grace. Listening to it might give you an insight to take some right decisions in your life, if not it might just work the same way as talking to your friend on a coffee date- which brings no productive results but gives you a mental satisfaction of having an outlet. For instance: someone has a thought of writing a poem and that very thought gives them one sleepless night. You got to listen to that very thought and satisfy it by writing a piece what comes to your mind in that very moment, rather than allowing it to bother you and stay awake or half asleep that night. Using this technique, you allow yourself to do a self-talk and have that special bond with your thoughts.
Self-love has no limits ; all the limits are created by us. The pure that love is, the pure that soul emerges to be, which not only people around you could see or notice but this whole universe could also feel and receive.
